- Starting as a teenager in radio soap operas at age 15 on Cosmos, Cardoso built a career spanning more than 80 years across television, radio, theatre and cinema.
- Recognised as a leading figure in Brazilian drama, Cardoso earned five APCA trophies and the Oscarito Award at Gramado Festival; in 2006, President Luiz honoured her with the Order of Cultural Merit.
- With more than 60 telenovelas, Cardoso holds the record for most titles by a Brazilian actress; her final television role aired in 2019, with her last project released in 2025.
