At 6:01 Central European time, two satellites of the European navigation system Galileo took off into space on Wednesday. It is the first launch on board the new Ariane 6 rocket from the space station in Kourou in French Guiana. After a few years of pause, Europe can now independently expand the world's most precise positioning system.
