Las Palapas Founder Ron Acosta stabbed to death in Stone Oak home, police sources say

Edward 'Ron' Acosta, 78, founder of Las Palapas, was stabbed to death Monday at his Stone Oak home on Reata Trail by a family member.
The stabbing followed a brief altercation between Acosta and his relative David Ruiz, 39, who had been invited to stay at the home.
Ruiz fled the scene shortly after the attack, but police arrested him during the 11 a.m. hour in Kimble County as he traveled west on Interstate 10.
Police found the suspected murder weapon, a knife, at the scene, and Chief McManus stated, "There is no current danger to the public."
Acosta’s death prompted a community response highlighting his faith and generosity, while authorities continue their investigation with no established motive yet.
