In Mineyama-cho, Kyotango City, Kyoto Prefecture, a large-scale removal operation of the invasive alien species, Coreopsis lanceolata, was recently carried out. Twenty-three people, including nine elementary school students from the "Kyotango Nagaoka Green Youth Group," participated, pulling up the Coreopsis lanceolata growing along roadsides and other areas from the roots.
