- After rescuing Gardiner from an Atlantic Ocean plane crash in May, Coast Guard agents arrested him with $30,000 in Bahamian currency labeled 'Politician-1'; prosecutors alleged he could distribute over 2,000 kilograms of cocaine.
- The five CJNG defendants remain at large without court appearances, while Gardiner awaits trial on additional drug charges in the Southern District of New York; officials have not confirmed his appearance date in Georgia.
