Witnesses Sought After Langley Senior Found Critically Injured
Investigators reviewed surveillance and are asking anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage from 9:30 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. to contact police.
- On Canada Day, a 75-year-old Langley resident was found in critical condition near Douglas Crescent and Park Avenue in Langley City around 9:50 p.m., prompting emergency crews to respond.
- Frontline officers, the British Columbia Ambulance Service, and the Langley Fire Rescue Service responded to the scene, where investigators reviewed video surveillance and determined the injuries likely resulted from an assault.
- The victim remains in critical condition at a local hospital, and police had not been able to speak with him as of the afternoon of July 2.
- Langley RCMP is asking anyone who was in the area during the incident or who has dash camera or CCTV footage from 9:30 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. on July 1 to contact police.
- Const. Peter Mann of the Langley RCMP stated the assault occurred at the location where the victim was found, and officers believe additional people in the area may have witnessed the incident.
