Langley Loves Its Kitties, and There's Stats to Prove It
PetSmart said 70% of the top 10 cities kept their rank as Langley stayed No. 1 for a second straight year.
- For the second consecutive year, Langley topped PetSmart Canada's 'Top Cat-Loving Cities' ranking, unveiled ahead of Canada National Adoption Week .
- PetSmart evaluated cities using a weighted formula: 50 per cent pet adoptions and 50 per cent sales of cat-related products, with results adjusted for store locations to ensure fair comparison.
- July marks the height of 'kitten season,' when shelters are flooded with vulnerable cats, making it the 'perfect time to adopt,' said Aimee Gilbreath, president at PetSmart Charities of Canada.
- Adopters visiting stores during Canada National Adoption Week can claim VIPP status, the highest tier in the loyalty program, and receive an Adoption Guide with coupons worth more than $350 in savings.
- PetSmart and its charity branch have helped more than 400,000 pets find homes across North America, including through more than 160 Canadian stores supporting the growing role cats play in family life for Canadians.
