Lanes closed on I-85 in Gaston County due to heavy police presence

BELMONT, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- Most of southbound Interstate 85 is closed Friday night due to a heavy police presence near Belmont.  According to the N.C. Department of Transportation, the incident was reported at 10 p.m. just beyond Exit 26, where the left two lanes are closed.  The closure is expected to remain until 2 a.m. Saturday.  Drivers are asked to follow the directions of on-scene personnel. The nature of the call or if there are a…
