Land acquisition vital to North Country National Scenic Trail

TOWN OF SUPERIOR — A 317-acre parcel of land that includes the Black River was purchased in August by the National Park Service in partnership with the Trust for Public Land, North Country Trail Association and Douglas County. The acquisition includes a 1-mile segment of the North Country National Scenic trail and provides the opportunity to relocate more than 30 miles of trail from nearby roadways to a forested route.
