LAKE WACCAMAW, NC (WWAY) — The Lake Waccamaw Police Department says a child may have been bitten by alligator. Police say there were multiple children playing in about 4′ of water when one exclaimed “something bit me!” All the children were rushed out of the water and a 6′-7′ alligator surfaced in the area they had been. An alligator was “neutralized” after allegedly injuring a child at Lake Waccamaw today. Lake Waccamaw Police reported via social media that the child was seriously injured, but the wounds were not life threatening. Multiple children
