Kyle Sandilands’ Dig at Former Network
The network seeks damages for breach of contract, lost advertising revenue and legal costs, and wants repayment of most of the hosts' sign-on bonuses.
- On Friday, ARN Media subsidiary Commonwealth Broadcasting Corporation countersued radio hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie Henderson for lost advertising revenue and damages following termination of their $200 million contract.
- After an on-air feud on February 20, 2026, the network terminated the duo's 10-year, $100 million contracts, prompting both to initiate separate Federal Court lawsuits against their former employer.
- CBC argued in court filings that Henderson and Sandilands were responsible for their own conduct, claiming workplace bullying is not a content issue, while seeking 87.9 per cent of their $3 million sign-on bonuses.
- On Friday, both presenters appeared in Federal Court as their separate cases were heard, with Sandilands telling media outside court, "Put me back on the radio, let's get the share price back up."
- The legal battle poses an existential threat to ARN, valued at just $88 million, while combined claims worth $160 million or more test the broadcaster's ability to defend allegations of failing to provide a safe workplace.
