Kyle Busch's Family Not Filing a Wrongful Death Lawsuit, Court Records Show
The NASCAR driver's family decided against litigation following his death in May, according to court documents obtained by USA TODAY Sports.
Court documents filed Wednesday confirm that the family of Kyle Busch will not file a wrongful death lawsuit, closing the legal avenue for potential claims.
Busch died at age 41 due to hemorrhagic shock and disseminated intravascular coagulation, with complications from presumed bacterial pneumonia contributing to the fatal condition.
Following the medical examiner's ruling on the manner of death, official documentation including Busch's death certificate and will were filed with the court.
Busch's estate executor has filed necessary paperwork to qualify for managing the estate, with documentation now part of the official record.
Before his death, Busch competed as a NASCAR Cup Series driver, participating in practice and qualifying for The Great American Getaway 400 at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pa.
