- BCCI confirmed on Sunday that Kuldeep Yadav was released from India's T20I squad to join India A for the second four-day match at the BCCI Centre of Excellence, Bengaluru.
 - The Indian team management requested Kuldeep Yadav's release to play in the India A series against South Africa A for red-ball practice before the two-match Test series against South Africa starting November 14 in Kolkata.
 - Having featured in the opening T20Is, Kuldeep Yadav took 2 wickets in the second with figures of 2/45 in Melbourne before being left out of the third and joining India A with KL Rahul, Mohammed Siraj, and Prasidh Krishna.
 - India A lead the series 1-0 after Rishabh Pant's 90, with the second match at the BCCI Centre of Excellence grounds from Thursday.
 - After the Tests, the schedule shifts to a three-match ODI series and T20Is later this year across Ranchi, Raipur, Visakhapatnam and Cuttack.
