Kroger Points Program Changes, Allowing Members to Redeem on Gas, Groceries
Kroger now lets shoppers turn fuel points into grocery savings, with up to 1,000 points redeemable daily for $10 off purchases.
On Thursday, June 25, 2026, the Cincinnati-based grocer Kroger unveiled changes to its rewards program, allowing customers to redeem points for grocery discounts in addition to fuel savings.
The retailer now refers to its 'fuel points' simply as 'points,' reflecting a strategic shift to give customers flexibility in choosing whether to apply rewards toward grocery bills or gas discounts.
Customers can redeem 100 points for $1 off groceries, capped at $10 daily, or earn 10 cents off per gallon of fuel, up to $35 per fill-up at Kroger Family Fuel Centers.
Aiming to simplify promotions, Kroger CEO Greg Foran introduced the change to provide consistent everyday value while competing with rivals like Albertsons and Giant Food that already offer similar flexibility.
Shoppers can track their points balance via the Kroger app, though they should note that rewards expire at the end of the month following their accrual to avoid losing unused credits.
