Riesbeck’s Marks National Donut Day with $6 Glazed Dozen
- Krispy Kreme, founded by Vernon Rudolph in North Carolina in July 1937, will offer a complimentary original glazed doughnut to customers on National Doughnut Day, June 6, 2025.
- This giveaway follows Krispy Kreme's efforts to highlight its authentic doughnuts amid many imitators and stems from an April Fool's Day 2017 campaign where it teased a name change to 'Krispy Cream' in the UK.
- Krispy Kreme has grown steadily since opening its first UK store at Harrods in 2003, which closed in 2011, and now operates 120 UK locations while rebranding some outlets to distinguish from US franchises.
- Guy Meakin, President of Krispy Kreme UK, acknowledged that while many have tried to replicate their well-known doughnuts over time, he encourages fans to choose the authentic Original Glazed doughnuts rather than the imitations.
- On June 6, to celebrate National Doughnut Day, customers can bring a "Faux-G doughnut" and, with a purchase receipt or the doughnut itself, exchange it for a complimentary original glazed doughnut, with the offer restricted to a single use per customer.
