Update: Southeast Pa. under an extreme heat warning until Friday night
The National Weather Service released an updated extreme heat warning at 2:22 a.m. on Friday valid between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. for Eastern Montgomery and Lower Bucks as well as Delaware and Philadelphia counties.The weather service states, "Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 107 degrees expected."
The risk of heat strokes is high, especially among children, older adults and people with chronic illnesses. July 24th, 25th and 26th are expected as the hottest of the month. It is recommended to stay hydrated, avoid direct exposure to the sun and take precautions in open spaces.
