The economic situation in Switzerland is surprisingly good. The KOF Institute has revised its forecasts upwards. The recovery is also affecting the population.
Like other economists, the experts of the Centre for Short-Term Research (KOF) of the EPFZ in turn report their forecast of the growth of the Swiss economy this year. After tagging last June on an expansion of GDP excluding sporting events of 0.8%, they now anticipate a 1.9% jump.
The Swiss economy has developed significantly better than expected in the first half of the year. Therefore, the KOF Economic Research Institute of ETH Zurich significantly raises its growth forecast for 2026. Interest rates are expected to rise once by the National Bank at the next meeting in December.
The Swiss economy developed much more robustly than expected in the first half of 2026. Together with upward revisions of national accounts, the KOF Institute is significantly increasing its growth forecast.
