Night of Libraries: First nationwide action

Libraries have more to offer than just book loans. In the first nationwide "night of libraries" they invite you to discover their offers on this Friday.

This is a novelty: For the very first time, the night of the libraries began nationwide on Friday. Many of the book paratheses have been open until late into the night - for example, free of the motto: "Read until the eyelashes climp quietly". Friday is the night of the libraries in Leipzig. The "Librarian Albertina" also opens its doors for this. It is one of the oldest and most impressive libraries in Germany.

22 libraries in the state of Bremen open their doors for the first nationwide night of libraries. From guided tours to workshops, there was a colourful program. Children could have cuddly animals overnight.

Around 1,800 facilities take part in the first nationwide night of the libraries. This is about far more than just books. Visitors are invited to the tango evening, among other things.

The night of libraries is as big as ever this year. Also with us in the district of Wesel many libraries open today with readings, scavenger hunts, workshops and guided tours.
