Kneecap announce LP saying Keir Starmer was 'all the motivation we needed'
- On Wednesday, Kneecap announced their second studio album Fenian, due on April 24, saying criticism from UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer was `all the motivation we needed`.
- Facing political scrutiny, the band say they were branded `terrorists` with cancellations and statements from UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, while Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh faced a 2025 terror charge dropped in September last year and appealed by the Crown Prosecution Service in January 2026.
- Accompanied by a dystopian video, the track Liars Tale features explicit lines targeting Sir Keir and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with its video premiering on YouTube after airing on BBC Radio 1 at 7.30pm.
- Fans can pre-order the album from 6pm GMT and the band directed followers to Kneecap’s WhatsApp channel for further news and access.
