Taipei, Jan. 27 (CNA) The Kuomintang (KMT) and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) are scheduled to hold a think tank exchange from Feb. 2-4 with Deputy KMT Chairman Hsiao Hsu-tsen (蕭旭岑) set to lead a delegation to Beijing, KMT sources said Tuesday.
KMT Vice Chairman Hsiao Hsu-tsen and others announced on the 28th that they will travel to Beijing, China from February 2nd to 4th to attend the "Cross-Strait Exchange and Cooperation Foresight Forum." In response, DPP spokesperson Han Ying pointed out that signs of cooperation with the Chinese side are evident everywhere. A forum between think tanks of the Kuomintang and the Communist Party will be held in Beijing on February 3. The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council of China did not directly respond today to questions regarding whether the forum touches upon the Zheng-Xi meeting, the level of mainland attendees, or whether the Kuomintang is using the blocking of military purchases to secure the forum.
