Kia just made camper vans much cooler (again)
- On Monday, Kia debuted the production PV7 electric van at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hanover, Germany, expanding its Platform Beyond Vehicle lineup as a larger sibling to the PV5.
- While the previous PV5 served as an 'Open Box' for urban navigation, the larger PV7 functions as a 'Tool Box' built for demanding commercial tasks, measuring 535 cm long.
- Boasting 800-volt charging architecture, the PV7 charges from 10% to 80% in around 20 minutes using a 350 kW charger, while the Long Range Cargo variant offers a WLTP range of over 285 miles.
- Sussex Campervans immediately announced plans to expand its Kingfisher camper lineup with a PV7-based model, with managing director Daniel Lopez stating the van ensures 'success as the next all-electric camper van.'
- Kia plans to launch the PV7 in Korea and Europe in 2027, with 23 total variants eventually planned; however, South Korean production may subject the vans to Trump Administration import taxes if brought to the U.S.
