- Marvel Comics announced 'The Muppets Take the Marvel Universe #1,' a one-shot comic celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Muppet Show, where The Muppets officially enter the Marvel Universe.
- Leigh Slaughter, Vice President of The Muppets Studio, called the collaboration 'meaningful,' noting it brings the personality and mayhem of The Muppets into the Marvel Universe and vice versa.
- Writer Chip Zdarsky and artist Pete Woods lead the creative team, which features stories including Rowlf the Dog, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, Beaker, and the Swedish Chef, with Zdarsky noting, 'With the great power of two iconic properties comes great responsibility.'
- The one-shot will hit shelves on September 23, 2026, following the success of the Disney+ and ABC revival of The Muppet Show, which guest starred Sabrina Carpenter.
