Kenya: A demonstration and petition for the release of Ugandan opponent Kizza Besigye
In Kenya, a petition for the release of opponent Kizza Besigye was sent to Parliament and the Embassy of Uganda on Monday, 24 February. Dozens of people protested in Nairobi, at the appeal of several civil society organizations such as Amnesty International. Kizza Besigye was abducted in Nairobi on 16 November, before reappearing a few days later in a military court in Uganda. Protesters came to denounce the growing political abductions in Kenya.
