Kentucky jobless rate falls but labor force shrinks

The state added 1,000 nonfarm jobs in sectors such as health care and hospitality, but manufacturing, construction and transportation lost ground.

FRANKFORT – Kentucky’s seasonally adjusted February 2026 unemployment rate was 4.2 percent, according to the Kentucky Center for Statistics (KYSTATS), an agency within the Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet.
