Peru's president, Keiko Fujimori, announced that her government will increase the minimum wage by 15%, from 1,130 soles ($331) to 1,300 soles ($381).
The new president of Peru took office this Tuesday in the Chamber of Congress. Her speech set seven goals of government with announcements in citizen security, infrastructure and economic reactivation
The president reported that the minimum wage will rise from S/1.130 to S/1.300 as part of her strategy to raise labour revenues. The measure will be accompanied by an extraordinary bonus for micro and small businesses in order to facilitate the formalization of employment.
