In a People interview on Thursday, visual artist Alexandra Grant offered rare insights into her relationship with actor Keanu Reeves, emphasizing mutual respect and creative play as foundational to their partnership.
The couple first met at a dinner party in 2009, began dating in 2017, and made their red carpet debut at the 2019 LACMA Art + Film Gala, maintaining privacy since.
Grant explained that she and Reeves navigate busy schedules by respecting each other's individual creative processes, telling People, "You want to always be respectful and leave the other person to bake their cake."
Beyond their personal connection, the pair co-founded the publishing house X Artists' Books in 2017 and previously collaborated on the 2011 book Ode to Happiness.
Reflecting on their shared creative lives, Grant described how their relationship has positively influenced her work, which she feels has "gotten happier," adding, "We're expressing from where we are and certainly feeling happier.
