KB Home (NYSE:KBH) Releases Quarterly Earnings Results, Beats Estimates By $0.16 EPS
The builder beat profit and revenue estimates as backlog rose 3% to $2.05 billion and it repurchased about $50 million of stock.
On Tuesday, KBH reported third-quarter earnings of $1.05 per share, beating estimates of 89 cents per share. Revenue reached $1.297 billion, exceeding analyst estimates of $1.294 billion, according to Benzinga Pro.
Jeffrey Mezger, executive chairman of KBH, described a challenging market where higher mortgage interest rates and geopolitical uncertainty have caused prospective buyers to be "more cautious on purchasing a home."
KBH delivered 2,732 homes in the quarter, a 19% year-over-year decline, while net orders fell 12% to 2,604. The average selling price decreased to $473,000 from $475,700 during the same period.
Ending backlog value rose 3% to $2.05 billion, marking the first increase in four years. KBH ended the period with $942.4 million in total liquidity and repurchased approximately $50 million of common stock.
KBH projects full-year 2026 housing revenue between $4.90 billion and $5.10 billion. Fourth-quarter housing revenue is expected to range from $1.45 billion to $1.65 billion.
