Airbus and Kawasaki Heavy to cooperate on Japanese variant of Eurodrone
Despite France's disengagement, which considered the aircraft obsolete, Airbus joined forces with Japanese Kawasaki Heavy Industries to study a maritime version of Eurodrone, intended for anti-submarine warfare and sovereign surveillance of the Japanese coast.
Airbus signed a preliminary agreement with Kawasaki Heavy Industries to cooperate in the possible development of a Japanese variant of a European military drone, informed the aerospace manufacturer on Friday (26). The agreement proposed in the memorandum of understanding, initially announced by the economic newspaper Nikkei, would allow Japan to develop a version for maritime anti-submarine war of the Eurodrone program, valued at 7 billion euros…
