- ACV argued the Board's strict 48-hour deadline for filing affidavits violated due process for nearly 710,000 petition signers; the Michigan Supreme Court ruled the Board acted within its discretion.
- Kristin Combs, spokesperson for Americans for Citizen Voting-Michigan, said supporters are "deeply disappointed" the measure will not appear this fall after the campaign exhausted all legal avenues.
- With the effort officially over for 2026, Michigan voters will instead consider a constitutional convention occurring every 16 years and an initiative to get "money out of politics" by limiting spending by utilities and large state contractors.
