- Officials noted Karnataka may need to release 6,000–7,000 cusecs from Krishna Raja Sagara and Kabini reservoirs to ensure the mandated flow reaches Biligundlu, while Union Heavy Industries Minister Kumaraswamy called the decision "unscientific" and a "death warrant."
- Water Resources Minister Ramalinga Reddy is finalizing the appeal for filing before the Cauvery Water Management Authority , while Shivakumar invited Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay to visit the drought-hit Cauvery basin.
- Protests have erupted across the Cauvery basin in Mandya, Mysuru, and Bengaluru following the order, with officials noting that if the CWMA appeal fails, the state must approach the Supreme Court.
