Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot suspended Shivashankarappa S Sahukar following allegations that he facilitated the unlawful selection of his daughters for government jobs and failed to disclose a conflict of interest.
The Karnataka High Court has set aside the order of Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot suspending Shivashankarappa Sahukar from the post of Chairman of the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC). A single-judge bench of the High Court had directed him to be reinstated within 7 days, with senior advocate Arun Shyam arguing for Shivashankarappa that the ex-post facto approval of the Cabinet was illegal.
