Amid Landslide fears,Kannadigas Stranded in Tibet Seek Airlift
Four people are confirmed safe as search teams look for the remaining 24 after flash floods disrupted road connectivity along the Nepal-Tibet border.
- On Saturday, Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar spoke to Kannadigas stranded in the Tibet Autonomous Region and assured them the state government would provide all necessary assistance to ensure their safe return home.
- Following flash floods along the Nepal-Tibet border, the State Emergency Operations Centre reports 28 people from Karnataka are stranded or missing, with search efforts continuing for the remaining 24 after disrupted road connectivity.
- Among those unreachable is Infosys Public Services CEO Lax Gopisetty, while the SEOC stated, "Of these, 23 are from Bengaluru Urban district, two from Mysuru district, one from Dharwad district, one from Udupi and one from Vijayanagara district."
- The Karnataka government is coordinating rescue efforts with the Ministry of External Affairs and Karnataka Bhavan in New Delhi, while officials arrange accommodation for Kannadigas arriving before they travel to Bengaluru.
- Stranded citizens near Saga told The Chief Minister that reaching Nepal could take around 12 hours, warning that landslides pose a high risk of them becoming stranded again along the route.

Karnataka tracks 28 stranded after Nepal-Tibet flash floods, four safe
Karnataka has identified 28 people stranded or untraced in Nepal and Tibet after flash floods. State and central agencies are coordinating rescue, tracing and evacuation as four have been confirmed safe.
Nepal Flash Flood: Eighteen pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka returned home safely on Saturday. A total of 28 people have now been saved as a result of one decision.
