Karl Stefanovic Dropped From Radio Show with Eddie McGuire
ARN is seeking confirmation after the move came three weeks after The Long Weekend launched with Stefanovic and Eddie McGuire.
On Wednesday, radio network ARN severed ties with broadcaster Karl Stefanovic, removing him from Gold FM's The Long Weekend program just three weeks after its launch.
Nine Network sacked the 51-year-old last week after his podcast interview with British anti-immigration activist Tommy Robinson, which executives deemed incompatible with his Today program hosting duties.
During the hour-long interview, Stefanovic praised Robinson's "courage" and "tenacity," drawing criticism for favorable treatment of the figure who holds previous convictions for fraud and stalking.
Co-Host Eddie McGuire, a media veteran and former Collingwood Football Club president, will continue hosting with ARN, though the program's format may now be reshaped around him.
Declaring himself "free" and "truly independent" on YouTube, Stefanovic advocated for freedom of speech while admitting uncertainty about his future, saying "Honestly, I don't know what I'm going to do.
