Kanye West ordered to pay $140K in Malibu mansion renovation case
- In Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday, a jury ordered Rapper Ye to pay $140,000 after deciding late Tuesday, according to the verdict read Wednesday.
- Saxon says he was hired in 2021 as project manager and security for Ye's remodel and filed a September 2023 lawsuit alleging he received only one $20,000 payment and $100,000 for construction costs.
- During testimony, Saxon recalled that Ye said, 'If you don't do what I say, you're not going to work for me, I'm not gonna be your friend anymore and you'll just see me on TV', and bank records show $240,000 in payments to Saxon, with testimony about plans to gut the Tadao Ando house.
- Saxon's lawyers say fees will push the total to more than $1 million, and both sides will review the verdict for possible appeal including $3,320 in prior sanctions.
