- Neither JioStar nor the makers of the sequel have publicly responded to the reported lawsuit, while the project recently wrapped filming and now enters post-production.
- The original 2014 film was jointly produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Phantom Films, a banner founded by Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, Madhu Mantena, and Vikas Bahl.
