Kacey Musgraves Bodies Kristi Noem
Musgraves hit back after Noem criticized her support for Texas Senate candidate James Talarico and repeated a memoir passage about shooting her dog.
- On Monday, Kacey Musgraves responded to former Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem after Noem criticized her Saturday concert appearance with Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico at Dallas' American Airlines Center.
- Noem had tweeted a screenshot of Talarico's post, writing, 'I'll take Ella Langley over Kacey Musgraves any day,' while also endorsing Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton for the Senate race.
- Referencing Noem's memoir anecdote about killing her 14-month-old dog, Cricket, Musgraves retorted, 'I don't think you have a dog in this fight but if you did you would have shot it.'
- Following the exchange, Ella Langley's team untagged her from Noem's post, a move noted by commenters; Noem has not posted on X since Musgraves' reply.
- Recent polls show Talarico leading Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in the 2026 Texas U.S. Senate race, where Talarico aims to be the first Democrat to win statewide office in three decades.
