- The National Emergency Operations Center conducted four large-scale vaccination campaigns in 2026, reaching more than 45 million children, while a subnational drive last week immunized more than 28 million.
- While poliovirus transmission has declined nationally, the virus circulates persistently in southern K-P, posing an ongoing threat to children in the region despite vaccination efforts.
- Pakistan has reduced polio cases by 99.8% through vaccination, a prevention method used in 195 countries, including Muslim-majority nations, to protect children against the paralyzing disease.
