Junior Fair Skillathon winners announced – BG Independent News

Nearly 400 Wood County Junior Fair youth participated in the Livestock Skillathon on July 16 at the Wood County Junior Fair Building. They were able to compete in eight different animal species, including beef, dairy, goats, horses, poultry, rabbits, sheep, and swine. Each skillathon station quizzed members on their knowledge of breeds, body parts, medication, feed, and structure. The skillathon contest is divided into senior (14 and over) and junior (13 and younger) categories. The skillathon is one of the components of the champion project within each species.
