Festival De Cannes: Julianne Moore Recevra Le Prix Women in Motion
The honor also will recognize filmmaker Margherita Spampinato with the 2026 Emerging Talent Award and a 50,000-euro grant, organizers said.
On May 17, Oscar-winning actress Julianne Moore will receive the Women in Motion award at the Cannes Film Festival, presented by Kering and the festival to recognize her contributions to cinema and advocacy for gender representation.
Kering Chairman François-Henri Pinault said Moore "fully embodies the spirit of Women in Motion," citing her consistent artistic choices and dedication to advancing meaningful representation on screen.
Italian director Margherita Spampinato will receive the Emerging Talent Award at the May 17 ceremony, accompanied by a €50,000 grant to support her sophomore feature film.
Moore said she is "genuinely grateful" for the recognition, while Cannes Film Festival President Iris Knobloch noted Moore "does not use cinema to reassure," instead choosing destabilizing characters.
Beyond her acting career, Moore serves as founding chair of Everytown for Gun Safety's Creative Council, where her commitment to amplifying diverse voices and supporting emerging creators drives her advocacy work.
A major figure in American cinema, Oscar-winning actress will be honoured for her exceptional career and her commitment to better representation of women in the film industry.
