Judgement Day: Judy Church Sentenced for Boyfriend’s Poisoning Death

Prosecutors said she poisoned her boyfriend’s drink with antifreeze after growing jealous of his affair.

Judy Church was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole in the poisoning death of her live-in boyfriend, Leroy Fowler. Church, who was convicted of first-degree murder, spiked Fowler’s drinks with antifreeze and delayed calling an ambulance as Fowler was writhing in pain as a result of the poisoning. Fowler died two days later when his family ended his suffering after he was declared brain dead. (4/2/26)
