Fresh Development in Hardeep Singh Kohli Rape Case Ahead of Trial
Lady Drummond urged both sides to narrow disputed facts before the October trial, as Kohli faces 20 charges involving five women.
On Thursday, Lady Drummond presided over a preliminary hearing via the High Court in Edinburgh, directing legal teams to finalize agreed evidence for the case against Hardeep Singh Kohli.
The 57-year-old comedian faces 20 charges including rape and sexual assault involving five women between 2006 and 2022, with alleged incidents occurring in Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Dumfries and Galloway.
Alleged incidents took place at the BBC Studios at Pacific Quay and the Radisson Hotel, and additionally at the Yes Bar where Kohli allegedly made sexual remarks and physical contact.
Deeming the draft joint minute "very brief," Lady Drummond instructed defense lawyer Sarah Livingstone and prosecutor Kath Harper to expand it before a continued preliminary hearing on July 1.
A trial is set for October 1 next year at the High Court in Glasgow; Kohli has pleaded not guilty to all charges, with special defenses of consent lodged for some.
