José Rubén Romero was a writer, novelist, journalist, politician and diplomat, born in Cotija de la Paz, Michoacan, on September 25, 1890, died in Mexico City on July 4, 1952. The author of the famous novel La vida fuerno de Pito Pérez. His parents were Melesio Romero and Refugio González. When he was seven years old his family moved to Mexico City.
