The Prosecutor's Office asked the Judiciary to lift the secrecy of the communications of former President José Jerí and others involved in their meetings with Chinese businessmen, known as Chifagate.
The court order reaches the former interim president and four other people around him. The authorities investigate alleged offences of influence trafficking and illegal sponsorship during his term of office.
The request made by the Public Prosecutor's Office is given in the framework of the investigation to the ex-mandatario for the unregistered meetings he had with Chinese businessmen.
The Public Prosecutor's Office (MP) requested the Judiciary (PJ) to lift the secrecy of the communications of Chinese businessman Zhihua Yang and three other persons in the context of the investigation against ex-mandator José Jerí.
