An earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale struck northern Norway at 11:06 p.m. local time tonight, 9:06 p.m. in Iceland, and was centered ten kilometers beneath the seabed off Meløy in Nordland county, 75 kilometers southwest of Bodø, according to the European EMSC Earthquake Center.
At least four earthquakes were registered west of the Helgeland coast on Wednesday evening. The strongest had a magnitude of 4.3.
A powerful earthquake has been recorded in the sea off Meløy.
