Jonathan Kaplan, Director of The Accused and ER, Dies at 77
LOS ANGELES, AUG 3 – Jonathan Kaplan directed over 50 episodes of ER and earned five Emmy nominations before dying from advanced liver cancer, his daughter said.
- Emmy-Nominated director Jonathan Kaplan died on Friday at his home in Los Angeles, known for directing The Accused and five Emmy nominations for ER.
- Jonathan Kaplan entered a film family, born in Paris on Nov. 25, 1947, to Sol Kaplan and Frances Heflin, then moved to Los Angeles and New York.
- After graduating the University of Chicago, Jonathan Kaplan studied under Martin Scorsese at New York University and apprenticed with Roger Corman.
