Comedy Legend John Cleese Will Bring UK Monty Python Tour to Cheltenham
The 86-year-old will host a 45-minute Q&A after each screening, with tickets priced at £39.50 and the run ending Sept. 22.
On Wednesday, 86-year-old comedian John Cleese announced a UK tour celebrating more than 50 years since the release of Monty Python And The Holy Grail, featuring film screenings and question-and-answer sessions.
Cleese will introduce the 1975 classic before hosting a 45-minute Q and A session, stating, "I'm delighted to be celebrating more than 50 years of Holy Grail with these incredible live events around the country."
Along with the Holy Grail, Cleese starred in Monty Python's Life and The Meaning of Life with the original troupe, who earned the moniker "the Beatles of comedy" for their groundbreaking surreal sketches.
The tour begins at Basingstoke Anvil Arts on September 1 and concludes at Leeds Grand Theatre on September 22, with stops in Manchester, Newcastle, and Birmingham; tickets start at £39.50.
Last year, Cleese's stage adaptation of Fawlty Towers ran at London's Apollo Theatre before touring the UK and Ireland, with the character Basil Fawlty inspired by real-life hotelier Donald Sinclair, who fascinated Cleese with his rude behaviour.
