Alfredo Barnechea, the presidential candidate for Popular Action, lashed out at the National Elections Board (JNE) for annulling the primaries and invalidating his participation in the 2026 elections.
The National Elections Jury (JNE) declared null and void the internal primary elections of Acción Popular after serious irregularities and manipulation of results were found. This result prevents the group from presenting candidates for the presidency, Senate, Chamber of Deputies and Andean Parliament.
