Since the government announced plans to consolidate public institutions, conflicts among local governments over attracting the integrated headquarters are intensifying. A nationwide war of nerves is unfolding as major municipalities, including Ulsan, Daegu, Taean, Jinju, and Busan, are preparing emergency measures to retain or attract these institutions, fearing a deterioration of the local economy and job losses.
