Jim Ross Undergoes Successful Brain Surgery
The WWE Hall of Famer underwent a shunt procedure to drain excess brain fluid and improve memory and balance, his podcast co-host said.
On Wednesday, Jim Ross, 74, underwent a successful shunt procedure in Norman, Oklahoma, to drain excess fluid from his brain. The WWE Hall of Famer is currently recovering.
The procedure addresses memory and balance issues Ross has dealt with throughout the year, limiting his AEW broadcasting availability. Doctors inserted a small tube to drain the excess fluid from his brain.
According to podcast co-host Conrad Thompson, everything went well, with Ross expected to be back home by Friday. Ross anticipated spending just one day in the hospital following the procedure.
Ric Flair praised Ross and Jerry 'The King' Lawler as the 'best pair of announcers in the history of our business,' wishing his 'dear friend' a speedy recovery. Flair called Ross a warrior for his entire life.
Ross hopes to travel to London for AEW All In on August 30, though his AEW contract expires this month. He has not yet signed a new deal with the company.
