The crew requested a priority landing after a customer needed medical attention, and the aircraft landed safely with health and safety crews waiting.
On Saturday, June 13, a Glasgow-bound Jet2 flight from Alicante Airport declared a mid-air emergency after a customer required medical attention, with the Boeing 737-8 squawking 7700 over the Irish Sea.
Flight LS178 departed Alicante Airport shortly after 1.40pm, with the emergency procedure initiated about two and a half hours into the trip while traveling near Stranraer at around 23,000ft.
The plane continued north over Dumfries, Galloway, and Ayrshire, landing safely at Glasgow Airport shortly after 3.40pm where health and safety crews met the aircraft upon arrival.
A Jet2 spokesperson confirmed the crew followed procedure by requesting a "priority landing," though the customer's condition remains unknown and the airline provided no further details.
